The advance by a mysterious teaser car has proved a proposed high-end sedan to replace the Cadillac DTS and STS. The Koreans are getting batteries, literally. They want to show that they do not walk behind in new technologies and therefore will show a prototype in Chicago on February 11, Kia Ray Concept. It is a plug-in hybrid sedan with a kind of design of crushed Kammback.
This prototype is part of research that makes Kia in alternative propulsion. This adds to the mobility experiments with fuel cells that are already done in South Korea and California. We give more details on this prototype or more images, we have to wait.
Anyway, car looks beautiful. Kia already sells a hybrid in its home market, the Kia Forte LPI Hybrid. Kia will begin testing hybrids in Europe this year, but does not know when there will be sales. Another car that is mandatory to mention at the Tokyo Motor Show is the Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept, which anticipates a very funny version of Toyota's next sport coupe. It is a work of Toyota and its coach, Gazoo. Unfortunately, the technical data available to us are very scarce.
It has a cylinder turbocharged opposite engine Subaru origin two liters. If it is the same as the Impreza, we can expect as little as 180 hp and 200 hp as more likely. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Its high-performance tires (Bridgestone Potenza RE050 245/40 R19 and 275/35 R19) anticipate that a model is very fierce. There are two hills, large diameter exhaust embedded in a sleek aerodynamic diffuser. This and the spoiler does not seem to post just for show. It is downright spectacular.

It is used to think that recent years the brand has lost too much in play and hire pimps. But look, trying to set rectifying we have something more tangible - rumor that if there is a new sporty hybrid, and if not then why. They unveiled a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. It's mostly a technology demonstrator, which is mounted on the platform of the old MR2 Roadster.
It is a hybrid two-seater with an aggregate (unconfirmed) of about 300-400 hp. A mid-engined 3.3 V6 petrol power sent to the rear wheels and an electric motor to the front, so that in practice is an AWD car. It weighs only 1,300 kg, so are to have extremely fun.
The car has emerged from the collaboration between Toyota and trainer Gazoo. The most obvious paste using a CVT with a cam change on the steering wheel is not very sporty that we say. What it does have is much more throttle response than any turbo fulminating and the electric motor drives together.
This may well be the basis for a future street model. Hybrids do not have to be boring, in fact makes up racing Gazoo Prius.
